Promoting Children's Healthy Growth
February 5, 2024
The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF, under the All-China Women's Federation) and Yingke Law Firm on January 13 hosted a symposium, during which representatives from education departments and women's federations shared their experiences in promoting implementation of the "Life Care" Charity Project. In December 2019, CCTF and Yingke Law Firm initiated the project, to help children establish correct values and a sound outlook on life.
To promote implementation of the project, Mei Xiangrong, director of Yingke Law Firm and chairman of Yingke Global Board of Directors, on January 13 donated, on behalf of the law firm, three million yuan (US $422,535) to CCTF. Many representatives said they would make greater efforts to encourage public participation in the project, and to provide protection and public-welfare assistance to children and families in need.
Zhang Yanhong, secretary-general of CCTF, said CCTF and Yingke Law Firm will continue to work with judicial, procuratorial and public security organs, education departments and women's federations, at all levels across the country, to establish an education mechanism, under which families, schools and society can work together to foster children's healthy growth and development.
During the past four years, the project has been implemented in Qingdao (a city in East China's Shandong Province), Changzhou (a city in East China's Jiangsu Province), Zhanjiang (a city in South China's Guangdong Province) and Haidong (a city in Northwest China's Qinghai Province). Various activities have been conducted to prevent bullying at school, to help children better understand laws and regulations, to improve their psychological health, and to offer guidance to parents to help them improve their family education.
Given the project's implementation, the education mechanism, under which families, schools and society have worked together to promote education, have been established. Also, an emergency response system (for children) and a professional platform for helping and caring for disadvantaged children, have been established. More than two million people, including students and their parents and teachers, have benefited from the project.
